Day 8-9-10-11-12 At Sea
Things are going along just fine. There are an abundance of activities as I have stated before. I am managing to carve out a little bit of time for scrapbooking every sea day. I hope to have the album 99% finished when I arrive home! We seem busy though I cannot tell you exactly what we are doing. Besides my scrapbooking, we are playing Rummikub, enjoying shows and demonstrations, and then there are meals and drinks with friends!
CROSSING THE EQUATOR - January 28, approximately 3:30p our time.
There was quite a celebration. We might have enjoyed watching such an hilarious event but we couldn't really see anything. We got glimpses. June is now a "shellback" and no longer a "pollywog" - I been across the equator a couple times before by ship and many by air. Anyway, the attitude on the ship was and is festive.
January 30th: MEDIVAC
Sadly, today there was an announcement that we have changed course. We have averted to a small Atoll called Rangiroa. We will not be docking there but there will be a medical evacuation. First this was scheduled around 3:45p. It was delayed until 5:45p due to winds. The helicopter is coming from Papeete to Rangiroa, then to the ship, then the reverse I guess. We do not have a helipad on this ship so it will be an impressive happening. We are told the lido deck has been cleared, closed, and pool has been emptied. I am happy to say I don't hear grumbling or complaining from anyone. I think we all know it could be anyone of us at any time. So sad that whoever this is, is unable to continue on the cruise. I do hope and pray they will be okay.
Looking forward to Papeete, Tahiti tomorrow 7am!
