Day 3 At Sea
We are still getting our bearings on the ship. We have yet to make it to some of the spots we want to visit. We ate in the dining room for breakfast because we thought June could have eggs Benedict. It was not on the menu. We have not been to the buffet yet, just dining rooms. Today we had a mandatory Covid test. They delivered it to our cabin to self-administer. You then took a photo of the test by your name and cabin number on a sheet of paper. Once you showed that to your cabin steward, you were ready to continue your day. Yes, we were both negative. At some point there will be an announcement if we need to continue to wear a mask or not.
Of course there are all sorts of people on this ship. Someone posted that they have black, individually sealed KN95 masks and they will sell them to you for US$5. Of course, the ship will give you a little one for free. Made me laugh!
Internet is great most of the time BUT extremely slow when uploading or downloading photos.
Today we made it to the Horizon Court for lunch. It had a nice array of dishes to chose from. After that we had a meeting from 1:30p to 2:30p for our overnight in Venice, Italy tour. Looks like a nice group of people and we are looking forward to that, even if it is far in the future.
By the time that was done I picked up the games I left in the Provence Dining Room. The people playing Cribbage were still there and they said ONE person showed up to play Uno and then left. I'm not sure I want to devote every sea day to setting up games no one comes to. I don't think I would volunteer to do that again! There are too many activities on the ship to compete with. They had a water color class today, lei making, and a variety of other things. There are many nice music venues around the ship as well. I will meet my commitment for this cruise of course.
In the afternoon we relaxed with a little bit of TV. Everyone is very happy the satellite issue is resolved and football is back on. I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out an attachment to my phone that takes my photos off. I can upload them perfectly to Forever from my phone BUT downloading them back to my laptop to use in an album is almost impossible. The internet is good but drops off when several photos are downloading. Anyway, with some help from Lai I got it figured out. His location is right near our cabin. I stopped tonight to just say "hi" and when I told him that he just laughed. Nice crew and staff.
For dinner we ate with 2 couples, 1 from Ontario, Canada and 1 from Dallas, TX. The woman from Dallas kept falling asleep at the table but we had a nice visit with the other couple. It is so interesting to meet new people and hear about how others live.
Tonight the entertainment was a Comic Magician. It was "ok" but I am not fond of magic. Of course, some people thought it was fabulous. It would have helped to sit near the front but we were near the back. We like sitting in the back so if the show is really bad we can quietly sneak out. The good news is NO MORE MASKS...
Back to the cabin after a quick stop at the Wheelhouse to pick up some bottled water and we will be tuning in a movie on the TV momentarily! We have been turning our clocks back, so far 2 hours....Happy Sailing!!!
